Shop · Intent
For calm, for sleep, and for a mind that stops rehearsing at two in the morning. Both traditions treat this as the foundation the other three intentions rest on.
Two readings
The Moon governs emotional rhythm, sleep and what soothes you — and it is the fastest-moving body in the chart, which is why mood is described as changeable while temperament is not. The sixth house covers routine, health habits and the ordinary maintenance of a body; the fourth covers the home you return to. Imbalance is usually read as one of these three being neglected rather than as a planet being "bad".
The governing idea is 阴阳 — not good against evil, but movement against rest, and the question of whether either has been allowed to run too long. In the five elements, Earth is the centring one: it is what sits between the seasons and what steadies the other four. A chart thin in Earth, or badly out of proportion, is classically read as difficulty settling rather than difficulty acting.
Traditionally associated
Almost everything in this category is sensory rather than symbolic — the tradition works on the body's rhythms through smell, weight and temperature.
Unglazed clay, jade, weighted forms. Weight is the point: things that sit still are read as helping you sit still.
香 — sandalwood, agarwood, cedar. Used across both traditions, and the practice is about the ritual of stopping rather than the scent itself.
Not running water, which belongs to the wealth reading, but still water — a bowl, a vessel at rest. The association is with settling rather than flow.
Find the one that matches you
"Balance" sounds universal, but a chart that is short of Water has a different problem from one carrying too much Fire. The free tool counts all eight characters and shows you the distribution rather than a single verdict — which is the only honest way to answer the question.
